Frequently Asked Questions

You have questions. We have answers.

What time is your weekly service and how long does it last?

Our worship service starts is every Sunday at 10AM. Our service lasts around one hour and then we transition to Bible Classes. Make sure and grab a coffee in between!

Where is the church?

Our church is located at 1901 Vickie Drive in Del City. We’re behind Del City High School and next to DCHS’s baseball field.

How is this church different than other churches?

Our church family seeks to be a blessing to our Mid-Del community. Helping others is our way of showing our thankfulness for all Jesus has done for us. We’re not perfect, but we serve a God who is.

What age groups go to your church?

We have people of all ages who attend. We have singles, married and widowed folks who serve in a variety of ways. We also have a long history of youth and children’s ministry at Del City. Whatever your life stage, we have a way for you to get involved at Del City.

What can I expect as a first time guest?

We have a relaxed atmosphere at Del City. We expect people to come as they are to worship. Expect several friendly faces and smiles when you join us. You’re invited to participate in singing and worship or just listen. We have a free gift for you if you’ll complete a Guest Card and put them into the offering plate.  You can get your questions answered at Connection Point or join us for Next Steps class.

What is your style of musical worship?

Our worship is acappella or voice only. That’s right, we don’t use instruments.  It’s simple singing with words on the screen. You’re invited to join us in singing or listen the first time you join us. We hope you’ll love it like we do.

What do you offer for children and teens during your services?

We have excellent child and teen programs each Sunday. We have Bible classes for all ages after worship service. Children from nursery to 6th grade are in our Children’s Wing while students aged 7th to 12th grade go to our Youth Center in the back building. During our worship service the nursery is open for all babies. We also dismiss 2 year-old through kindergarten to Creation Kingdom before our sermon for a special class. On 5th Sunday’s, we dismiss all children ages two through 6th grade for a special worship service.

Do you have a youth group? If so, when does it meet and who is invited?

Our Del City Youth Group is for students ages 7th through 12th grade. We call them “The DCYG”. They are comprised of students from around the Oklahoma City Metro area and represent 10 different high schools and even more middle schools.

Our students meet in a 5,000 square foot facility called the YC (Youth Center). It has a cafe area, games, a billiard table and other places for students to hang out before worship and teaching times.

How do I get my child signed up for Youth Group?

We’d love for your student to be involved in our Youth Ministry. Encourage them to go to Sunday or Wednesday activities. We list our weekly activities in our bulletin. If you need help, contact Monk and he’d love to assist you.

What do you offer for babies and toddlers?

Each Sunday morning and Wednesday evening we offer a nursery with trained and background checked volunteers. They offer a safe and nurturing environment for babies. We also have a private room at the back of our auditorium for crying babies and nursing mothers. During worship, toddlers can attend Creation Kingdom and learn more about the Bible and Jesus in fun, age-appropriate activities.

What denomination are you?

We are non-denominational, which means we have no outside governing body. Our leadership is local and made of men from our congregation called Elders or Shepherds. We like to say we’re locally owned and operated.

Do I have to dress up to attend your services?

Please join us in any way you feel comfortable. You’ll see a wide variety of attire at Del City. As long as you wear clothes, you’ll fit in with us.

How often do you take communion?

We feel communion is so important that we take it every Sunday as a reminder of Jesus’ sacrifice. Most Sunday’s we’ll pass the bread and grape juice to one another. It’s simple: you just need to sit and pass. If you’re a Christian, you’re invited to participate with us. As a matter of convenience, we’ll take an offering from our members afterwards. As our guest, please don’t feel obligated to give during our offering.

What kind of adult education/spiritual growth opportunities do you offer?

We have Bible Classes for every Sunday morning from 11:15 to noon. If you need help finding a Bible Class, stop by Connection Point and we’ll help you find one. It’s also likely a member might invite you to one, too. You can attend any one you’d like to attend.

We also have small groups that meet on Sunday’s called Link Groups. These groups meet to share and study the Bible together. They meet in homes throughout the Metro and at the church building. You can find a list of our Link Groups at Connection Point, too.

On Wednesdays we have an early-bird class at 4:30PM and more adult classes at 7PM. During the school year, we also have a meal from 5:30-6:30OM in the gym. All first-time guests are free to the meal on Wednesdays!

How can I get involved serving in the church?

Our first step for each guest is to join us at worship service. Then we’d love to connect you with a Bible Class and attend our Next Steps class. At Next Steps, we give you tons of ways to get involved in our church. However, we do have lots of folks who got involved in service before joining our church family. That’s OK, too!

Do you offer marriage counseling and other types of counseling?

We offer premarital counseling on a first-come, first serve at our church. We also have avenues for short-term marriage counseling, as well as referrals for other issues. If we can help you, please let us know!

How do I become a member?

Membership at Del City is joining the family. Please reach out to one of our staff members, Shepherds, or volunteer leaders if you’d like to join our Del City family. You can also find one of our leaders at our worship service and let us know.

Do you perform weddings and funerals?

We can help with weddings and funerals. There is a fee associated with weddings. There is no facility fee for member funerals. If you’d like to know more, please contact our office for inquiries.

How often do you do baptism services?

We offer baptism 24/7. We believe life with Christ starts at baptism, so we are always ready to teach you about baptism. And when you’re ready, we will baptize you. If you have questions, please contact one of our ministers or Shepherds.

How do I get in touch with someone at the church?

If you’d like to reach our main office, simply email us office@delcitychurch.org and we’ll direct your email to the right person. If you’d like to talk to someone, you can call us at 405-672-1311. You can find us 1901 Vickie Drive, Del City, OK 73115.
