At the Feet of JESUS
That brings several questions into the conversation. What have we learned from God’s Word recently that we did not previously know? Should we be digging deeper into His Word the more, we mature as Christians? How have our skills in handling the inspired word of God increased with time? Do we typically read God’s word only to reinforce what we already know, or are we searching for more hidden treasures it contains? Does our excitement in what we find in such a search swell up so much that, like Jeremiah of old, we have to share it for “His word was in my heart like a burning fire shut up in my bones; I was weary of holding it back, and I could not” (Jer. 20:9 - NKJV). In such a search, we embrace both the significance of and purpose for God’s word with which Paul reminded Timothy. “All Scripture is breathed out by God and profitable for teaching, for reproof, for correction, and for training in righteousness, that the man of God may be complete, equipped for every good work.” (2 Tim. 3:16, 17 – ESV).
