How it all started...
Our church has a rich history dating back to 1952, when it was founded by the Marshall Street Church of Christ. Initially located on the west side of Sunnylane Road, we moved to our current location at 1901 Vickie Drive after experiencing growth throughout the 1950s and 1960s. Over the years, our church has undergone several remodels, but more significantly, we have sent out hundreds of ministers who have made profound impacts within God's Kingdom. Notable former ministers include Mack Lyon, Doug Lawyer, Doug Parsons, Jeff Payne, Jeff Gardner, and many others.
Innovating early on, we hired one of the first youth ministers in the area, Sonny Banning, in the 1960s, and constructed one of the first Family Life Centers. While we continue to innovate, our primary focus remains on nurturing the next generation through ministries like our Children's Ministry and Del City Youth Group (DCYG). Young people are central to our vision as we prepare for the future.
Additionally, we are committed to being a positive influence in our community. Through over 30 ministries, we actively seek to build bridges and extend Christ's love to others. Our hope and prayer are that those searching for a relationship with Christ will find a welcoming community here.
We warmly invite you and your family to join us as we strive to reach a new generation for Christ.
