Stellar

I'm a huge fan of VBS. I love everything about it—the decorations, the snacks, the silly songs, the cheesy skits. It encapsulates everything I enjoy about life in one event. 

This year, our theme for the Del City VBS is “Stellar: Shine Jesus’ Light.” I love this theme not only because it inspires amazing space decorations but also because it conveys an important message to young people: in a world of darkness, you can be the light of Jesus for someone. 

This theme is deeply rooted in the Bible, and one of my favorite verses that illustrates this concept is John 8:12, where Jesus proclaims, “I am the Light of the World.” 

What does this mean? Why does Jesus use this specific language? If Jesus is making this claim about himself, what does it mean for us? We'll explore all these questions and more as we dive into John 8!
