I love board games and enjoy a good round of chess or checkers. I’ll even play Scrabble from time to time. However, the one board game I cherish most is Monopoly. I'm willing to play as long as it takes, just to see the look of despair in my opponent’s eyes as they hand over their final dollar. The entire goal is to bankrupt your opponents while growing richer yourself. At the risk of overanalyzing a classic game, I have to ask: Has this mindset crept into our culture? Is life really about gaining as much as possible, no matter the cost?

Fortunately, Proverbs has plenty to say about this, and that’s what we’ll explore this morning.
