MTAF 3: GOD’S JOY

When people think about God, unfortunately, they often do not imagine Him as a very happy being. In fact, many people, even those of faith, envision God as a stern and strict older patriarch, constantly disappointed in His family. However, this is not the picture that the Bible paints of our Heavenly Father. The Bible describes God as joyful, delighted, and even rejoicing on many occasions. Last week, we examined what makes God angry, and while that is an important topic, this week we will explore the other side of the spectrum: God’s joy. What makes Him joyful? How can we be a delight to God? What can we learn about where our own joy should come from? This morning, we will look at some of the answers the Bible provides.
