MTAF 6: OUR LOVE

In a classic '80s rock song, the band Foreigner sings, "I want to know what love is." Remarkably, they express confidence that the listener can show them exactly what love is. While I appreciate Foreigner's faith in me, love is a complicated subject. I describe my feelings for Panda Express using the same word I use for my wife. Does that mean I feel the same way about Orange Chicken as I do about my wife? Hopefully not.

This complexity also arises when we discuss love in a Biblical context. God commands us to love Him and to love our neighbor, but what does that mean? What does it look like? Jesus emphasizes these two commands as the most important we can follow, so it’s essential that we understand what they entail. This morning, we will explore our emotion: love.
