MTAF 10: OUR FEAR

Nov 10, 2024    Garrett Marshall

I despise scary movies. I honestly do not see why people find them entertaining. Is real life not scary enough? Must you find other ways to terrify yourself? I rarely find scary situations very much fun, and I do my best to avoid them. I honestly can't remember the last time I truly experienced a moment where I would say I was completely fearful.

However, that does not mean that my life is not dominated by another kind of fear. Perhaps not a "I'm going to die" kind of fear, but a fear of, "What would happen to my family if I were gone?" or "What if I lose my job? How would we survive?" or even "What if this sermon absolutely tanks and no one can look me in the eye every again?" This kind of fear, I think is much more common in our society today. We call this kind of fear Anxiety, and the Bible has plenty to say on how we can get a handle on ours.
